Mark Stemen’s: Teaching Climate Change and Resilience Across the Curriculum
This presentation describes the development and impact of our award-winning Faculty Learning Community (FLC) in which over 200 faculty members on 24 CSU & CC campuses explored ways to integrate climate change and resilience into their courses.

Participants represented a diverse range of disciplines—from science and engineering to the social sciences and policy studies—and developed tools and techniques to enhance both their comfort and effectiveness in teaching these urgent, cross-cutting topics. The presentation will review the strategies faculty employed to modify their courses, share examples of successful curriculum changes, and offer insights on supporting interdisciplinary teaching during a climate crisis. The goal of the presentation is to empower educators to extend their disciplinary expertise while creating nimble and impactful change in their classrooms.
